Will the quality improve?
No. PNG keeps the picture exactly as it is now, including any JPG artifacts. It only prevents further loss.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
PNG saves every pixel without loss, while JPG throws away detail to save space. The same picture therefore takes more room as a PNG.
Which files can I convert?
JPG, WebP and HEIC photos from an iPhone. You can add several files at once.
When should I convert JPG to PNG?
When you are going to edit the picture several times, or a program or print service asks for PNG. For sending and uploading, JPG is usually the better choice.
Does converting to PNG make the background transparent?
No, the background stays as it is. To remove it, use the Remove background page, which saves a transparent PNG.
Can I convert several JPGs to PNG at once?
Yes. Choose them all together and download each PNG or a single ZIP; keep in mind the ZIP will be large.
