Can I compress several photos at once?

Is metadata such as location and date kept?
No. Re-encoding does not carry over embedded metadata, so the picture does not reveal where it was taken.
Why is the result below 1MB and not exactly 1MB?
We leave a margin so the file passes on any site, however it counts a megabyte.
How do I reduce a 5MB photo to 1MB?
Choose it above: the page keeps up to 2560 pixels on the long side and lowers the JPEG quality just enough to fit under 1MB. A typical phone photo shrinks several times with no visible change.
Is a 1MB photo good enough to print?
For small prints such as 10×15 cm usually yes, since 2560 pixels is plenty of detail for that size. For posters, keep the original.
Is 1MB a good size for real-estate and classifieds photos?
Yes, at up to 2560 pixels the photos stay sharp and upload quickly. Choose all the photos for the listing at once.
