Frequently asked questions
Will the quality get worse?
Hardly. The JPG is saved at high quality, so the difference is not visible on screen. The file may be somewhat larger than the HEIC, because JPG is a less efficient format.
Can I convert many HEIC photos at once?
Yes. Choose all the files together, then download them one by one or as a single ZIP archive.
Is the location from the iPhone kept?
No. The JPG is created anew, and embedded data such as GPS location is not carried over.
How do I open a HEIC file on Windows?
The simplest way is to convert it here: choose the HEIC file, wait a moment and download the JPG, which any Windows program opens.
Why are my iPhone photos in HEIC?
iPhones use HEIC by default because it takes less space than JPG at similar quality. The downside is weaker support outside Apple devices.
Can I convert HEIC to JPG on Android?
Yes. Open this page in your phone browser, choose the HEIC files and download the JPGs; no app is needed.
