Will I notice a difference after compressing to 500KB?
On a phone or computer screen usually not. You would only see it at high zoom.
What format will I get?
A JPEG. It opens on any site, phone and computer, so the photo is accepted wherever JPEG is allowed.
What if the result is still larger than 500KB?
At Full HD size this is rare, and the tool tells you when it happens. Then use the 200KB page: it reduces the picture further, and the file fits with room to spare.
Is 500KB enough for a listing or a portfolio?
Yes, for viewing on screens it is plenty: the photo keeps Full HD resolution, 1920 pixels on the long side. It is not enough for printing.
How do I reduce a photo to 500KB without cropping it?
Just choose the photo: nothing is cut off. The picture is only scaled down to 1920 pixels on the long side if it is bigger, and the JPEG quality is tuned to fit.
Can I compress a screenshot to 500KB?
Yes. PNG screenshots are accepted and saved as JPEG; zoom in on the result to make sure small text is still sharp.
